Let’s do it together.
With multi-faceted experience on the board and working with community experts in their respective fields, we are ready to make snow happen here in southern Maine. Please contact us if you have time/expertise/energy to help the project become a success.

Leslie is the assistant Nordic coach at Bowdoin College. A Maine native and two-time Olympian ('80 & '88), Krichko helped UVM win a national championship and raced numerous World Cup events and two World Championships over a 12-year stint on the national team. Vice President
Fred Bailey Trail Design was founded in 2010. This evolved out of community service projects in Aroostook County, ME and training at venues across North America and Europe while racing post-collegiately for Maine Winter Sports Center (2007-2013). Fred Bailey Trail Design brings a detailed approach to trail design focusing on ease of maintenance, water management, and user experience. Projects include new trail development, many renovations and consultation at several venues for FIS (International Ski Federation) homologation (race trail) certificates. Clients include resorts, racing venues, clubs, schools, and private landowners.

Treasurer
Riley brings a wealth of information and acumen to our board with expertise on running successful businesses. He and his family are avid Nordic skiers, and Riley is a coach for the Maine Coast Waldorf MS team.

Secretary
Emily Cartwright is a lifelong advocate for Nordic skiing with over 27 years of coaching experience. A former NCAA All-American skier and three-sport athlete at the University of New Hampshire (Nordic, xc/track), Emily brings both elite athletic experience and deep community engagement to her work.
Since relocating to Maine in 2006 with her family, she has founded two nonprofit organizations focused on growing Nordic skiing in the state: Nonstop Nordic, which she also coaches, and Maine Nordic, where she serves as Secretary. Emily also contributes to youth development by assisting with Nordic programs at the Greely schools in Cumberland.
Passionate about ensuring the future of skiing in Maine, Emily believes, “This is the most important project yet—because without snow, the programming and racing efforts cannot be realized.”

At Large
John is a Sports Medicine Physician and passionate skier. He has devoted his professional career to helping people get started with activity or return to sports after injury. While not quite as accomplished on skis as his fellow board members, John takes pride in his hand-carved bear trophy for the overall 25K Freestyle win at the 2022 Rangeley Lakes Loppet and his 1301st place at the 2024 Birkebeiner Freestyle. He and his boys have been snowmaking on a small-scale with a backyard setup that has allowed for limited skiing between snowstorms. John is excited to bring his passion and clinical thinking to this project.
We are in the process of becoming a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
For this project, we are partnering with Maine Nordic, an established 501(c)(3) to ensure that all donations are tax-deductible.
